Hi from Canberra (again)

Hi every body,

Today I am sitting in Canberra Australia. I am at my Grandmas house. There is so much to do in Canberra like go to Questacon, or have a look around the parliament house are have a hike in the mountains surrounding Canberra. But lets get into detail, starting with the parliament house.

The prime minister of Australia currently is Julia Gillard and the Opposition is Tony Abbot (who I have met in person!). In Canberra there are two Parliament houses, the old and the new. looking at the differences from both parliament houses are amazing. You can really see the changes.

Another fun activity in Canberra is Questacon. With it’s amazing, fun and interactive science games and technology that is the fun way of learning about all sorts of things!

Tell me you story about your trip to Canberra or why you would like to visit.

Let’s move on again

Ok so now moving onto Western Australia. Some cities in Western Australia are, Perth( the capital) Freemantle, and Broome. In Perth there is the Swan River named by Willem de Vlamingh in 1697 saild into Perth and saw the abundance of Black Swans in the river, that is how the Swan River got it’s name. Freemantle has a prison and a yacht race called the The Americas Cup. Ivisited the prison ais was very depressing but I learnt a lesson, never do anything bad! Broome is well known for it’s beautiful beaches and the pearling industry.

Did you know that Western Australia is the biggest State in Australia.

100wc #9

Hello everybody….

I know I haven’t written a post for quite a while and I am sorry. But here, I have yet another 100 word challenge.

weeks promt is not a line but a picture. (and a very yummy one too)

wpid-Photo-12-Oct-2012-2240.jpg  here is the link to view the picture.

Any way let me get on with this 100wc…..

” Mum, I am home from swimming”.  I shouted from the door

” That’s nice” mum replied. She didn’t sound to enthusiastic about it.

It was 5:30 pm and I had just gotten home from swimming. My mum had also come home from her buissness trip in belgium and promissed me that she would bring me home a block of BELGIUM CHOCOLATE!! I raced into the kitchen so that I could get hold of the chocolate before my older brother could. Sitting on the couter was a plate with 1 piece of chocolate.

“JONOTHAN, you pig” I screamed.

Enjoy

sophie

100 Word challenge #7

Ok here is another 100 Word challenge,   This weeks promt is ……… all I could see were two red eyes…….All

All I could see were two red eyes staring at me. The air was cold, dark and damp and a thin layer of mist was settling down on the forest. The creature was at least 8 feet tall and was 5 feet wide. It was covered from it’s head to it’s massive toes in thick mouldy brown fur. I wanted to run but I couldn’t, my body was in shock. Suddenly my blood ran cold for I new what I had just encounted. It was Americas most feared creature, the bigfoot. From a distant I could hear wood knocks and deep, long growls. Could this be it?

We went to the Museum Of Screen and Sound, the national museum of art, went to parliament house (we met Paul Fletcher and Tony Abbott), the AIS, Old Parliament House, War Memorial, Australian Electoral Commission and Questacon. We did so much in just three days. Here is a link to our class blog to read more about what we did in Canberra.

More about Sydney!!!!!!!

Hey

We have looked at the Sydney Harbor bridge so far but we have so much more to explore in Australia. Like Places in Perth and Brisbane.

This is how my blog will work. Each city will have one post on one of its sights and then some other info about it as a city.

So talking about Sydney. Some other icons in Sydney is the Sydney Opera House in Circular Quay. An amazing icon that is the perfect place to watch the cruise liners and the fireworks from. The Botanical gardens are a great place to have a picnic in and are really quite amazing, and full of wild life. Then there is Manly which is famous for it’s beach. (Manly beach) and Bondi famous for the T.V show Bondi rescue, a show about rescuing animals.  There is so much about Sydney that I could go on forever. It is an amazing city and is the biggest city in Australia! It has the population of over 4.6 million people!!!!

100 word story # 6

Hey travelers. Here is my 100 word story for this week. There will be alot of thease coming for they are for hoemwork!

This weeks promt is (drum roll please)      …………..What is that?……….         ENJOY!

Two words for the most amazing day, Warm and Sunny! The waves rolling into the shore and the seagulls of head screeching. aaaaaahhhhhhh Venice beach, the perfect place to spend my weekend. Wait a second, What is that? Everyone is screaming and running out of the water. What is this all about? I hear a coast gard shouting in a megaphone saying ” get out of the water, There is a shark”.   Yay sharks. My favorite fish, exclaims my little brother. By now the whole beach has moved to the back near the stone walkway. What a great way to ruin my weekend.

Hope you liked it

Venice beach is in America.  ( I want to got there!)

100 word challlenge

For home work we have a task to write a 100 word story and this weeks Inspiring sentence was …… the temperature dropped suddenly and….. ENJOY

The temperature dropped suddenly and I went with it all the way down the side of the Swiss Alps. I had just had a hot chocolate at the chalet where it was warm and cozy. We bundled up into our snow gear and collected our toboggans by the rusted shed and rode them as though we were cowboys downwards to the Swiss town below. At the bottom, my face was numb and covered in snow from the spray of the toboggan, but I could still see all the Christmas lights and the Christmas tree with the shining star in the center of town.

By me Sophie
